HannStar Board expected to ship 30 million NB China PCBs in 2007

Ingrid Lee, Taipei; Esther Lam, DigiTimes.com [Tuesday 22 August 2006]

Investors estimate that HannStar Board will grab about 30% of the global market for notebook-use printed circuit boards (China PCBs) with an annual shipment exceeding the company's planned 21-23 million units in 2006. The shipment amount is likely increase to 30 million in 2007, noted the investors.

New orders from Inventec will help boost HannStar's third quarter notebook-use PCB shipments to 6-6.5 million units, up from 4.6 million in the first quarter and 5.1 million in the second quarter, the investors predict. Under the assumption of a double digit notebook shipment growth each year, the investors estimate that HannStar Board will ship about 30 million notebook-use PCBs in 2007. The investors further noted that notebook-use PCBs should contribute to over 60% of HannStar's revenues.

HannStar Board currently houses a total capacity of 3.45 million square feet of China PCB per month, with its Jiang Yin, China plant contributing three million square feet and its Taiwan plant contributing 450,000 square feet.
