PCB suppliers in China for PS3 fixed, says paper

The Chinese-language Commercial Times cited industry sources as reporting that China PCB suppliers for Sony's PS3 game consoles are settled. The participants include Nan Ya China PCB, Unimicron Technology and Ya Hsin Industrial, as well as companies that supply upstream raw materials such as Nan Ya Plastics, Iteq and Taiwan Union Technology (TUC), according to the paper.
Nan Ya PCB, Unimicron and Ya Hsin received product validation for PS3 consoles in July, indicated the paper. In addition to the PCB suppliers in Taiwan, one China-based maker and two suppliers from Japan have also been chosen to manufacture PCBs for use in the PS3, the paper noted. Volume shipments, which are estimated to total one million units per month, will kick off between September and October, according to the paper.
Compeq Manufacturing, which was reportedly preparing samples of PCBs for Sony's PS3, was excluded from the PCB supplier list.
As more and more Taiwan PCB mills moved to mainland China for production, China has been the most focused place to manufacture single-sided/double sided PCB and also multiplayer PCB in the world. In China’s Shenzhen and Jiangsu many PCB assembly lines have been set up. |
